Vitamin E functions as an antioxidant, preventing the oxidation of unsaturated lipids within the cell by neutralizing the production of free radicals. With this Vitamin E helps to maintain normal neuromuscular function. Adult horses that are deficient in Vitamin E may develop myopathy or equine motor neuron disease. Alpha-tocopherol is the most biologically available form of Vitamin E as well as the most studied. Provides nutritional support during times of stress due to excessive exercise and/or illness in horses.
